Coupling Pipe Fitting

The Different Kinds of Pipe Fittings

Pipe fittings are parts that you can use to connect different sections of the pipe along with other products that are used to control fluids, such as pumps or valves. The most common use of these is to connect metal or plastic pipes, which carry fluid material.

Pipe fittings are also used in order to block or extend existing pipes. However, there are numerous uses and types of pipe fittings that are available in the market. Any reliable pipes manufacturers will be able to educate you on the various kinds of pipe fittings available and which is the best one for you.

However, it is, of course, always important to do your own research before trusting a third party or any pipes manufacturers. Hence, let us try to understand the various kinds of pipe fittings and make our own judgment first.

Types of pipe fittings

Every kind of pipe fitting has its own function and purpose. Therefore, multiple pipe fittings may be used in the same run design multiple pipes perhaps of different sizes. Moreover, they’re all made of different materials. Some of the many fittings available with pipes manufacturing companies in India are:

  • Elbow pipe fitting

Such pipe fittings are used to change the direction of the flow of the fluid between the two pipes that you are connecting. They are usually available from different angles. These are in good hands from 22.5°, 45° and even 90°.

If the pipes that you are connecting are of the same radius, then you can use any normal elbow. However, if they are of different diameters, then reducer elbows are put to use. Pipes Manufacturers in India wouldbe able to guide you on this matter with ease.

  • Reducer pipe fitting

Such pipe fittings are used to reduce the flow of water from a larger to a smaller size. This is done by reducing the size of the pipe that you are connecting. Now, there are two kinds of reducers.

The first is a concentric reducer which is in the shape of a cone and gradually decreases. The other is an eccentric reducer which has one of its edges connected parallel to the pipe that it is connecting to. Pipes suppliers usually have a stock of both.

  • Tee-type pipe fitting

Such pipe fittings are used to connect to pipes in the shape of a T. They have one input spot and two output spots, which are connected at 90° to the main line. They are also available in varying materials and sizes.

Pipes suppliers in India have a healthy stock of such pipe fittings given their wide usage in various aspects of everyday life.

  • Cross-type pipe fitting

Such pipe fittings are used to connect 4 different pipes connecting at one main spot. They have 4 openings in all directions. Such pipe fittings are at the centre of four different connecting points and thus suffer through more stress.

Such fittings are primarily used in fire sprinklers. Thus, pipe suppliers companies in India make sure to have these handy at all times.

Conclusion

Truly, it is a piece of equipment extraordinarily expected to get and a while later holds new materials found in the pipeline application, which is moreover called a seal pot. Ordinarily, they are used in compound, gas, oil, and petrochemical ventures. The condensate pots often help to trap any unfamiliar substance all set, which helps with shielding the fragile instrumentation parts. The condensate is exhausted from the base valve association, and the channel port is astounding for use with ball valves.

Of course, it might be gotten to by significant equipment makers, avionics associations, shipbuilding organizations, and so forth. It will in general be presented in both vertical and level positions, which makes it an optimal response for a large number of pipelines. Regardless, of expecting different condensate pots to be presented, it is basic to guarantee that they are mounted at a comparable level to dispose of likely missteps.

Condensate is an incredible wellspring of feed water as it is fairly pure (diverged from most water supplies) being a thick water range. Condensate can moreover be used as the hot connection water to include the enthalpy for warming twists or power exchange units.

For steam applications, condensate pots are essential. They are used to assemble the fluid upstream of the differential strain transmitter. Presented at a comparable level, they license exact assessment by keeping a reliable condensate level in the inspiration lines over the differential strain transmitter.

The development pot can similarly be used to defend the transmitter by virtue of a stream assessment of a damaging/intense fluid. For this present circumstance, we examine separation pots.

Different types of valves and their pros and cons

Valves are a helpful component in all plumbing aspects. In addition to controlling flow and pressure, they permit a complete stop or flow of fluids inside a pipe. To vary the flow’s direction or even divide it into many directions, numerous valves are also employed.

Based on their function, there are many types of valves offered by the best valve exporters in India. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages. Let us study these types and their pros and cons in detail.

  1. Butterfly valves

Butterfly valves offered by industrial valves exporters, use a quarter-turn of the internal rotating disc mechanism to fully open or close the valve. The butterfly-like picture that butterfly valves produce while they are operating to control flow is how they receive their name.

Pros –

  • Butterfly valves are built from a limited set of components. As a result, the layout is straightforward.
  • Butterfly valves can move mud when there is a small liquid deposit in the pipe’s output.
  • The installation charges are minimal

Cons –

  • Butterfly valves lack strong shutoffs.
  • Even when fully opened, some of the discs are constantly exposed to the flow.
  • There’s a chance of cavitation and choking
  1. Check valves

Instrumentation Valves Exporters in Mumbai deal with Check valves that only allows liquid to flow in one direction and stop media from flowing backwards. Check valves are used to stop the system’s process flow from reversing, which could harm equipment or disrupt the process.

Pros –

  • Check valves result in less downtime.
  • Check valves protect machinery like pumps and compressors from harm caused by backflow.
  • Control valves offer minimal maintenance costs since they have smaller movable elements.

Cons –

  • It might be problematic when a valve disc becomes stuck in the open position.
  • The installation arrangements for check valves are subject to some restrictions.
  1. Globe valve

A baffle, which is normally parallel to the length of the pipe, separates the interior of the pipe to form a globe valve. Their spherical bodies, which feature an internal baffle dividing the two halves, gave rise to their name. It has a usually spherical body with a moving disk-like element and a fixed ring seat.

Pros –

  • Because there is just one sealing surface, globe valves are relatively simple to maintain.
  • Globe valves experience less wear and tear than other valves do.
  • They have positive shut-offs and can be used as stop-check valves.

Cons –

  • They have a large disc assembly opening.
  • In comparison to a ball valve, the opening speed is slower.
  • They have a low flow coefficient.

Things to consider before choosing a valve

A valve is a kind of fitting that enables fluid flow via a pipe to be regulated, controlled, and directed. Valves are frequently employed in systems to control water pressure, stop backflow, direct flow, and shut off access to water. Be it homes or industries, they are found everywhere. Thus due to its wide application, you must choose the right kind of valves from the best valve suppliers in India. To select the right domestic and industrial valves, be sure to read this article till the end.

4 Things to consider before choosing a valve –

  1. Dimensions

The flow capacity of a valve is determined by its size, which must match the system’s needed flow rate. To assess a valve’s applicability, consider its flow coefficient which describes the connection between the pressure drop over the valve and the related flow rate.

  1. Media type and various factors affecting it

Determine whether your media is self-lubricating like oils or dry like gas and air. This will help you select the right material for your valve. PFA and PTA are used when dealing with abrasive compounds. Whereas, while monitoring high-pressure gases, it is advisable to use metal valves.

Also, consider the pressure while choosing the valve that will work best for your application. Speciality valves are usual for high-pressure applications, and these valves often have thick wall diameters to withstand the pressure.

Additionally, you must also consider the temperature of the media. The key factors that must be taken into account while choosing the valves based on temperature are the material used and its seal against the temperature.

  1. The function of the valve

To what demand does your valve need to respond? While 3-way valves are useful for on/off control, media diverting, and mixing, 2-way valves work well for on/off control in a system. Additionally, keep track of how frequently your valve will be opened or closed.

Purchase a valve from the best valve suppliers in India, to ensure that it is ordinarily oriented in a direction and switches to the other direction when activated. This will increase the lifespan of the valves.

  1. Maintenance

Last but not the least, maintenance is the most important consideration when selecting a valve. Since valves may degrade over time, you must consider maintenance costs when selecting a valve. Both application stability and valve durability rely on this. Working with a damaged valve is extremely risky because it could result in gas or liquid leaks.

To ensure that your valves last for a long time with low maintenance make sure to purchase valves from the best valve suppliers in Mumbai.

Coupling and caps are used to start and stop flows respectively. Seeking the assistance of the best instrumentation pipe fittings suppliers in India can help you to get the best possible results at affordable pricing points and at your doorstep.

Types of pipe fittings offered by the best Best Pipe Fittings Suppliers in India

Various types of pipes are made up of materials such as brass, iron, PVC, etc that are offered by the best Pipe Fittings Suppliers. to adjust with the pressure and temperature. Here’s a list of different types of pipe fittings –

  1. Elbow pipe fittings

The flow direction between two pipes is reversed using elbows. 45 degrees and 90degrees elbow angles are the most common ones offered. To alter the pipe’s direction by 90 degrees, a 90-degree elbow is put between the pipes. offered in both long and short radius forms.

To shift the pipe’s direction by 45 degrees, a 45-degree elbow is fitted between the pipes. The other types of elbow pipe fittings also include long radius elbow, short radius elbow, and reducing elbow. With the assistance of instrumentation pipe fittings suppliers in India getting hold of the best Elbow pipe fittings is now easy to fulfill.

  1. Coupling

The same-diameter pipes are connected using couplings. To connect the ends of the pipe, they are welded, soldered or glued together. Most often couplings are used when there is a leakage. They are also used when a large plumbing line needs to be built and a single pipe length is not enough.

There are two types of couplings – compression coupling and slip coupling. A compression coupling is a standard connection that joins two pipes and stops leaks by positioning gaskets or rubber seals on either side, if no glue is given. Slip couplings feature two pipes that are arranged into one another and allow the inner pipe to slide up to a certain length.

  1. Union

Union connections are used in place of flange connectors in low-pressure small bore pipes when pipe dismantling is more frequently necessary. Three components make up a pipe union: a male end, a nut, and a female end. The male end has threads on the outside whereas the female end has threads on the inside. The pressure required to seal the connection when the male and female ends are connected is also provided by the nuts.

Conclusion These are some of the primary types of pipe fittings. If you are looking for the best pipe fitting supplier in India then McNeil instrument is the right option for you. Use and Advantage of Different Types of Valves

Valves used in plumbing and other related works are manufactured in various parts of India. Such Valves Manufacturers in India make many different types of valves. In this article, we discuss the different types of valves made by Industrial Valves manufacturers and their advantages and disadvantages.

  1. Gated valves

A gate valve is made by many Valves Manufacturers in Mumbai. These types of valves move a gate vertically and are used to open or close the pipeline completely. There are no small openings possible. The entire gate is either closed or opened. If you are looking for a regulated flow, a gate valve wouldn’t be an ideal choice.

  • Advantage: They have very less fluid resistance. The force required to open/ close is comparatively small.
  • Disadvantage: Large space is required for installations. The two sealing faces make processing, grinding, and maintenance tough. The time taken to open/ close is also more.
  1. Butterfly valve

If you need a valve that can open and close often, a butterfly valve would be a good choice. Purchase them from the Best Valves Manufacturers in Mumbai to enjoy good quality and performance.

  • Advantage: They have a simple structure and weigh less. The time taken to open and close is small. They resist fluid in minute amounts. They can be used for different media surfaces and are widely made by Instrumentation Valves Manufacturers in Mumbai.
  • Disadvantage: The range of adjustments available for flow is narrow. It cannot be used in high temperatures or pressure conditions in a piping system. Sealing quality is inferior in comparison, hence not preferred much.
  1. Globe valve

A globe valve is highly recommended in cases where regulation of flow is needed. The opening and closing create friction which is less than other valves made by Instrumentation Valves Manufacturers in India. So, the chances of wear and tear are much less in this case.

  • Advantage: Maintenance and repair of the valve are quite simple, as it has only one sealing surface. The valve is resistant to higher temperatures.
  • Disadvantage: The change in flow direction is subject to change and causes more resistance to flow. The opening of the valve is slow in comparison.
  1. Ball valve

A ball valve is an advanced form of plug valve with a ball-shaped opening and closing device. We rotate the ball to 90 degrees whenever it needs to be closed or opened. Industrial Valves manufacturers in Mumbai make these useful valves.

  • Advantage: A ball valve is reliable when dealing with corrosive media and can achieve full sealing even when temperature and pressure are high. The sealing surface is not easily eroded.
  • Disadvantage: Industrial Valves manufacturers in India use Teflon to make ball valves. These have poor thermal conductivity. We cannot adjust it much either.

Final Overview McNeil is one of the Best Valves Manufacturers in India with several years of experience in the field. They provide good quality valves for industrial use in all types and materials. The number of satisfied customers is testimony enough of their product quality.

TYPES OF INSTRUMENTATION TUBE FITTINGS

WHAT ARE INSTRUMENTATION TUBE FITTINGS?

Tube Fittings are an important component of fluid conveying systems because they secure connections between tubes and ports and also gauge the system to transmit, control, and monitor flow, pressure, and temperature. The smooth flow of operations and processes in a plant largely depends upon the instrumentation fitting components. All connections in a flow system are potential leak points. It is important to choose the right supplier of fittings who can offer multiple designs as per specific system requirements. McNeil Instruments Inc is a trusted manufacturer and supplier of a variety of tube fittings in India, to cater to every requirement, giving you a leak-free system and process setup.

TYPES OF INSTRUMENTATION TUBE FITTINGS

Every fluid transfer system needs various kinds of fittings to make complex setups. Each type of the fitting is used for specific applications. Instrumentation tube fittings can be classified into four types.

  1. Compression Fittings

Compression fittings are the most convenient and easy to install fittings that compress or coin a tube to join it with another tube or a thin-walled pipe. These fittings can be installed without any special equipment and are generally used in hydraulic, gas, and water systems. They allow easy disconnection and reconnection, making them the most commonly used tube fittings.

  • Fittings for Cones and Threads (C&T)

Cone and Thread connectors are generally used in high-pressure applications. These fittings provide a secure and tight connection and can be removed and rebuilt for maintenance easily. However, the assembly time and cost of C&T fittings are higher than compression fittings.

  • Butt Weld Fittings

Butt weld fittings offer the best oscillation safety and have maximum tolerance to wear and tear. However, these fittings are more expensive than the other types of tube fittings as they need welding supplies and a skilled welder. This adds to labor hours, thus increasing the cost of installation.

  • Push-To-Connect Fittings

Push-to-connect fittings join tubes by using an interior collet and an outside switch. These fittings allow rapid and instant connections without the need for extra tools and disconnections are also easy. They guarantee secure and leak-free connections for all pneumatic applications.

Industrial Valves - Mcneil Instruments Inc.

IMPORTANCE OF INDUSTRIAL VALVES

Every process setup is created using different kinds of machinery, equipment, and devices. One such element used in a process setup is ‘Valves’. Valves are a fundamental component in all process setups and there can be no flow system setup without them.

WHAT ARE INDUSTRIAL VALVES

A valve is a mechanical device that regulates, controls, or directs the flow of liquid, gases, fluidized solids, or slurries in a piping system. It helps in controlling the flow by opening, blocking, or partially obstructing passageways. Industrial valves are used to handle high-pressure and are designed to last in harsh environments. The main function of industrial valves is to control, isolate, or divert the flow of liquids, and gases through pipes.

There are different kinds of valves with different physical properties, structures, and applications. Let us see some commonly used valves across all process industries.

BALL VALVES TO THROTTLE FLOW

Ball valves are flow control devices with rotating, perforated, hollow balls that regulate the flow of fluid through pipes. Ball valves are generally suitable for low-flow applications and are widely used to throttle gases and vapors in hydrocarbon processing systems. It needs only a quarter turn to turn on/off the flow. The process engineering needs generally define the size of the ball valve required to regulate the flow.

CHECK VALVES TO PREVENT BACKFLOW

Check valves are two-port industrial devices with two openings, one for fluid to flow into and the other for fluid to flow out. They rely on internal pressure for opening and closing, rather than outside action. The main function of a check valve is to prevent backflow; hence it is also called a non-return valve. Check valves are mostly applied in compressed air and gas systems and vacuum pumps. The check valves manufactured by McNeil Instruments help in reducing head loss of water. Know more now.

GATE VALVES FOR MINIMUM RESTRICTION IN FLOW

Gate valves are valves with discs that are gate or wedge-shaped and have a linear movement. This allows easy and effective shut-off/on mechanism. It removes barriers from the liquid’s path of travel. Therefore, it is used to either entirely start the flow or completely stop the flow of fluid. It can be used in bi-directional flow and where a minimum restriction is required. Few industries where gate valves are commonly used are Oil and Gas, manufacturing, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.

NEEDLE VALVES FOR LOW FLOW RATE IN EXTENDED PERIOD

A needle valve is a valve with a small port and a threaded needle-shaped plunger. Needle valves are often used in flow-metering applications, especially where a constant, low-flow rate is required for a long period, such as idle fuel flow in a carburettor.

Classification of Pipe Fittings - Mcneil Instruments Inc.

Classification of Pipe Fittings

There are two main types of pipe fittings commonly used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems; flanged and screwed. Screwed pipe fittings use a male and female thread combination and when screwed together tighten to form the joint. A flanged pipe fitting has a lip or extension projecting at a right angle to its surface. This lip is bolted to the facing lip of the adjacent fitting for added strength. Because of the strength of this fitting, flanged fittings are recommended for 4-inch pipe or larger.

Both of these pipe fittings are used to make temporary joints because you can ultimately take them apart when needed. If the joint is ever brazed, soldered or welded the join is considered permanent as the join will not come apart. The advantage of these two temporary joints is that it can be easily disassembled for repairs down the road.

The typical pipe fittings can be divided on the basis of the following six functions:

  1. Reducing or enlarging
  2. Branching
  3. Extension or joining
  4. Shutoff or closing
  5. Union or makeup
  6. Direction

Reducing or Enlarging Fittings: Both bushing and reducers are examples of reducing or enlarging fittings. Their function in pipe installations is to connect pipes of different sizes. The difference between a bushing and a reducer is distinguished by their construction. A reducer is a coupling device with female threads at both ends. A bushing has both male and female threads on each end.

Branching Fittings: A branching fitting is used to join a branch pipe to the main line. These fittings are used for Tees, Crosses, Elbows with side outlets, Y branches and Return bends.

Extension of Joining Fittings: Nipples, locknuts, couplings, offsets, joints and unions are all examples of extension or joining fittings. With the possible exception of an offset, these fittings are designed to join and extend a length of a pipe.

Shutoff Fittings: Sometimes it is necessary to close the end of a pipe in your system. This is accomplished with a shutoff or closing fitting and the following two types are used for Plugs and Caps.

Union or Makeup Fittings: These are represented by union elbows and union tees. This type of fitting combines both a union and an elbow or tee in a single uni. They come in both male and female threads to attach where needed.

Directional Fitting: Direction fittings such as offsets elbows and return bends are used to change the direction of a pipe. Offsets may be considered to be a type of extension or joining fitting because of the overlap in function.

Pipe fittings are used in all aspects of new HVAC equipment and also in repairs. Understanding the difference between these fittings will help you on your next HVAC job.

All About Pipe Fitting Measurements

Pipe fitting and their sizes

Pipe fitting measurements are in indicated in either the English or the Metric System. It includes variety of features and stages and for this reason using the usual outlines would be discussed in this write up. In this article, readers are presented with some things to consider regarding pipe fitting and the like.

Types

Pipe fittings have many techniques. Usual methods are compression fittings, pitless adapters, flexible couplings and four-way fittings. Techniques like bulk head fitting and cap and rigid fitting are also noted for the procedure. Variations of elbows could either be 90 or 45 degrees. Reducing elbows, ferrules and expansion couplings are noted kinds of fittings as well. Variations of their sizes are available as well for flanges, plugs, nipples and end bells. To be realistic, setups for pipe settings vary: it really depends on the usage.

Shapes and materials

The materials and shape are key features to check with regards to fitting of pipes. The usual shapes are round, square, oval and rectangular kinds. Materials also vary, but to name a few, carbon, bronze, ceramic and ABS are usually preferred. Vitrified clay, flouresin, fiberglass, cast iron and EPDM are some materials being utilized. Other prefers stainless and steel alloys for its flexibility while titanium and rubber could also be good materials. The different functions of pipe fittings assert why there are different materials being used.

Schedule numbers

ANSI or American National Standards Institute devised a norm that calculates the thickness of the wall and that is the ‘schedule numbers’. The schedule numbers includes all pipe sizes: from NPS 1/8′ up to NPS 36′. It should be noted that this connection is only for fittings that match with the exact American National Standards Institute schedule number.

Metric and English measurements

The metric system of measurement uses meters or millimeters while the Standard English gauges use inches when measuring. A 4 mm four-way or cross is about 3/16 inches and 3 mm for a 1/8 inches coupling. A 2 mm is around (plug or cap) 1/16 inches in size. For further sizes, the internet is one of the best resources to check for standard measurements. Knowing something about pipe fitting could definitely an advantage in working projects related to fitting of pipes. Nonetheless, asking somebody who is a veteran regarding this information should also be considered.

Types of Instrumentation Pipe Fittings - Mcneil Instruments Inc.

Type of Instrumentation Pipe Fittings

Instrumentation pipe fittings are typically used to connect pipes of variable or same size and also for assorted functions like managing the flow, diversion and blocking. These fittings are generally classified based on their purpose or function.  Some of the common types of pipe fittings include Coupling, Plug & Union, Cap, Female Branch Tee, Female Elbow, Female Run Tee and Male Run Tee. As mentioned above, they are exploited to measure, restrict or regulate the flow of liquids / gases in tandem with other pipe fittings such as valves.

Some of the distinct functions of instrumentation pipe fittings include –

  1. To bifurcate or change the direction of the flow of raw material or liquid / gaseous end product.
  2. Prevent further streaming by installing a cap.
  3. Manage flow consistency through variable pipe sizes or pipe fittings.
  4. Creating fork / split in the flow through Tee and Elbow.

Interestingly, these fittings are used in plants and control rooms which are exposed to harsh conditions and therefore made from special materials such as high grade stainless steel, carbon steel, nickel, metal alloys, copper and brass.
